Many physicians and surgeons don’t understand the dire effects of being peer reviewed until it’s too late. If you receive a notice from the medical board, Medicare, the state Board of Medicine, or your hospital alleging a dispute on the care you have given, DO NOT RESPOND. They are your enemies. Call Dr. Willner first and let him respond to the Peer Review letter before you end up in the Data Bank, the Permanent Tomb for Doctors. - The St. Croix Review, a bimonthly journal of ideas, recognizes that the world is very dangerous. Conservatives are staunch defenders of the homeland. But as Russell Kirk believed, wartime allows the federal government to grow at a frightful pace.
