Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women”  has had seven feature films made from her book. The current one with Greta Gerwig’s adaptation was nominated for six Academy Awards. Unfortunately, the latest film leaves out an important theme from the original text: faith. By violating Alcott’s narrative structure Ms. Gerwig also undermines the writer’s framing of the story as a tale of moral growth in a world at odds with living a Christian life.

However, the deconstructed version failed to win any Academy Awards on Feb 8, 2020.
