After breaking away from a patient who sought his advice for a medical problem on entering a restaurant, a doctor finally made it to his restaurant table. “Do you think I should send her a bill?” the doctor asked the lawyer who was sitting next to him.

“Why not?” the lawyer said. “You rendered professional services by giving advice.”
“Thanks,” the doctor said. “I think I’ll do just that.”

When the doctor went to his office the next day to send the bill, he found a note from the lawyer. It read, “For legal services, $50”
