Private care is still illegal in Canada—Unless you go to a foreign country

The B.C. Supreme Court rejected Dr. Brian Day’s constitutional challenge, but he says he’s ready to fight the issue all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.

This is a distinct difference from the NHS in the UK. They have always welcomed their patients to go a private practitioners at their own expense. This seems logical and friendly. To prevent people from going to a private practitioner seems very hostile, a restriction on freedom, and reduced quality of healthcare. But you have to travel to another country to obtain private care.

Canadian Medicare does not give timely access to healthcare, it only gives access to a waiting list.
